Sugar Plum Done
Port Angeles Community Players continue their ‘25/‘26 season with the World Premiere of Sugar Plum Done by local playwright Shannon Cosgrove (best known for the PA Panto series of shows). Co-directors Melody Todnem and Shannon Cosgrove along with a team of creative costumers, set designers, and prop makers are hard at work creating a world class North Pole Head Quarters (NPHQ) extravaganza for the whole family.
For the record, this is not your mama’s Christmas Carol! Set on Christmas Eve, Sugar Plum Done tells the hysterically harrowing tale of just what happens behind the scenes of Santa’s Workshop when the big man in red’s mid-life crisis takes the form of a residency in Vegas. Left to their own devices, the elves walk out, the reindeer fly the coop, and Christmas is on the verge of cancellation—which will also wipe out the North Pole and all other magic.
Will a small cadre of loyal elves and fairies find a way to deliver a world of toys with TikToking reindeer? Will the confounding influencers have any impact on a world that doesn’t believe in a Santa that’s quitting anyway? Will Mrs. Clause put down the Schnapps, crack some chestnuts, and vanquish the lurking evil that endangers all magic if Christmas fails? Will Santa come to his senses and return just in time to save Christmas? Or will Christmas finally give up the ghost?
